University of Stirling Triathlon Club
Welcome to the University of Stirling Triathlon Clubs website. Triathlon is a sport made up of Swimming, Cycling and Running in various distance events ranging from sprint distance (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run) to Ironman distance (3.8km swim, 180km cycle, 42.2km run)
We are a reletivley new club within the university having only been officially set up for the last 2 years. We are an all inclusive club that caters for athletes of all abilities ranging from complete novices to elite performers. We make it possible for anyone to join by catering training needs to the individual. We train as a team making training a more socially and enjoyable environment. The club also offers a way to get involved socially from regular planned nights out and dinners as a club. We also try to organise a few fun activities as a club throughout the year such as colour runs or team races etc.
We cater for all distances within the club from sprint distance and beyond. We even have athletes who compete in cross-triathlons involving a mountain bike instead of road bike, so whatever you're intreseted in, we try to cater for all.
As a club we are active with races and aim to get a big team down to both BUCS Duathlon and BUCS triathlon. These events are great for anyone wanting to do their first race or anyone wanting to compete at a high level. It also gives you an opportunity to compete against other Universities around UK. In addition we also seek out competitions within Scotland such as Student Sport events.
Our facebook page is used as a way to communicate as a club whether there is an important event coming up or you just want to know if someone wants to come for a run with you. Too connect with our social media on both Facebook and Twitter click on the icons at the bottom and top of the page.
If you have any other questions do not hesitate to contact
any member of the comittee or coaches via email.
A list of our training times can be found below.
We are also working alongside a local charity CHAS (Children's Hospice Assosiation Scotland) It is a charity that offers hospice to children and young people within Scotland who have life-shortening illnesses with no known cure. For more information click here: http://www.chas.org.uk
